Gerald T. White was a historian, author, and professor of history at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) from 1968 to 1980. White was chairman of the History Department at UCI from 1969 to 1971 and Professor Emeritus from 1980 to 1989. His works include histories of the oil industry in California. White died in 1989.
